City of Pompano Beach - Building Department
Welcome to the City of Pompano Beach Building Department! Our mission is to support safe, sustainable development while fostering an efficient and user-friendly permitting process. We are committed to ensuring public safety, health, and general welfare by enforcing the standards of the Florida Building Code. These standards cover structural integrity, sanitation, fire safety, hurricane resistance, and more, while also overseeing the installation and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and gas systems.
Pompano Beach operates with a “one permit” concept, streamlining the process for developers, owners, and contractors. A single permit encompasses various trade applications—such as plumbing, electrical, roofing, and site drainage—allowing for flexibility and efficiency tailored to each project's unique needs. Our electronic plan review and records system supports this integrated approach, ensuring clear communication, timely corrections, and a smooth path to Temporary, Partial, or Final Certificates of Occupancy.
Every project has its own character, and we are here to guide you through each step. Whether you are embarking on a large-scale development or a smaller project, our team is dedicated to helping you achieve a successful and timely completion. We look forward to working with you to bring your vision to life!
