Barry Moss

Barry Leonard Moss was re-elected to the Pompano Beach City Commission in November, 2022.

Commissioner Moss was born and raised in Taunton, Massachusetts. He graduated from The American University in Washington, DC in 1971. His early professional career included working as a staff assistant to US Senators Claiborne Pell (RI) and Lloyd Bentsen (TX). He lived for four years in Lisbon, Portugal where he was a teacher of English at the American Language Institute. Upon returning to the United States, Barry began a twenty three year career as a real estate appraiser in Washington, DC and was the owner of Capital City Appraisers.

Civically, Mr. Moss is actively involved in community association work. He served for a number of years as the President of the DC Cooperative Housing Coalition which represents the interests of housing cooperatives in Washington, DC. He retired to Pompano Beach in 2006 and became actively involved in the Palm Aire community where he is currently the Vice President of his condominium association and a member of the Executive Board of Palm Aire United.
