Office Hours and Information
The Pompano Beach Cemetery exists to serve the residents of Pompano Beach. With cemetery space becoming increasingly limited throughout South Florida, the City has prioritized preserving available plots for local residents and their families. By reserving cemetery space for those who live in our community, Pompano Beach can continue providing a dignified and affordable final resting place for generations of residents.
Monday - Thursday - 7:00am to 6:00pm, excluding holidays as observed by the City. Cemetery Office is Closed on Friday.
The City has recently mapped a new section of the cemetery, our Center Lawn. This new lawn provides approximately 3,000+ new plots for purchase. The City also has provided a columbarium in the North Lawn.
Our Center Lawn also has sections where upright monuments can be purchased and installed, as in the South Lawn. North and West Lawns are prohibited from using upright monuments.

Our cemetery is governed by the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 92 which can be viewed online at this web site.
The following four section maps can be down-loaded for your ease and convenience to locate plots within the cemetery. Two "you are here" location maps are currently being made and will be placed in the cemetery for your convenience.

Who can purchase a cemetery plot?
Cemetery plots are available for Pompano Beach residents only.
What proof of residency is required?
Acceptable proof of residency includes a valid Florida driver's license, current utility bill, voter registration card, or vehicle registration showing a Pompano Beach address.
Are interments allowed on Fridays, Sundays, or holidays?
No. Interments are conducted Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays only. We do not conduct interments on Fridays, Sundays, or City-observed holidays.
How long does marker installation take?
Once the marker proof is approved and payment is received, production and installation typically takes approximately 16 weeks.
What type of markers are allowed?
Pompano Beach Cemetery requires flat bronze markers mounted on granite. All markers must meet cemetery specifications and receive approval prior to installation.
Can decorations be placed on graves?
Fresh flowers are permitted in approved vases. Decorations are subject to cemetery rules and regulations and may be removed during routine maintenance.
How do I schedule a graveside service?
Please contact the Cemetery Office to coordinate a date and time. Services are scheduled based on availability.

Can outside vendors install headstones or markers?
Yes. Outside vendors may install headstones on Thursdays only, with advance notice and an approved Marker Application on file with the Cemetery Office. All markers must meet cemetery specifications and receive approval prior to installation
