Business Tax Receipt Information
The City is now accepting online credit card payments for Business Tax Receipt renewals. We accept the following credit cards online: American Express, MasterCard and Discover. Please note, those businesses that must show annual documentation will not be able to renew online.
The Click2gov portal also functions as a searchable Business Tax Receipt (BTR) Database. This convenient resource includes information such as business name, year a business was established, address, phone number and account number. If you have any concerns with the information in this database, please contact the Business Tax Receipt office at 954.786.4668 or 954.786.4633.

County Business Tax Receipts
Beginning July 1st, 2015, at broward.county-taxes.com/btexpress. You can file an application for a new business tax receipt and/or change address information on an existing business tax receipt. For more information and assistance, please call 954-831-4000. Fax number: 954-357-5479.
The County’s Business Tax Receipt (formerly known as Occupational License) is required of any individual or entity choosing to engage in or manage any business, profession or occupation in Broward County, unless specifically exempted. When you pay a County Business Tax, you receive a Receipt (similar to the City’s BTR), which is valid for one year, from October 1 through September 30. Tax rates vary, depending on your business classification.
Renewal applications are mailed each July 1 to current, valid Business Tax Receipt holders, to the mailing address on record. If you do not renew your County’s Business Tax Receipt by September 30, it becomes delinquent October 1, and you will be assessed a penalty if you attempt to renew for the following year.
