Grow with Pompano Beach

With a tri-county GDP of nearly $378 billion dollars and the benefit of no state income tax, South Florida a lucrative destination for prospective businesses and the City of Pompano Beach is perfectly positioned for your success in the center of it all.

Pompano Beach offers tremendous transportation links by air, sea, rail and ground – located minutes from the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades and within an hour of two other international air and seaports in Miami and Palm Beach. The City’s vision for smart growth is becoming reality and has positioned Pompano Beach’s current and future businesses for success. Continuing this growth will be the development of the New Downtown – a 70-acre walkable smart city hub designed for innovation - integrating residential, commercial, cultural and cutting- edge industries.

The City also provides an exceptional quality of life – with amenities like 3 miles of beaches, 700 acres of parks, golf, tennis, endless watersports, gaming, dining and a plethora of options for cultural experiences, including 5 cultural venues and a 3000 seat Amphitheater. Economic Development Council

In a joint effort to improve the economic well-being and maintain an outstanding quality of life in South Florida, the City of Pompano Beach and the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce formed a public/private partnership called the Pompano Beach Economic Development Council (PBEDC). The PBEDC consists of local business leaders and city officials who meet on the fourth Monday of every month to discuss local business issues and how to strengthen and diversify the business climate.

The principal purpose of the PBEDC is the planning, encouragement, support and promotion of economic development and growth of the local economy. This is accomplished by promoting and encouraging the attraction of new business and industries to the city, supporting the retention and expansion of existing business and industries within the city to increase the tax base, increase local employment and improve the general welfare, prosperity and quality of life for the benefit of the residents of the City of Pompano Beach.

The Economic Development Council(EDC) meets the 4th Monday of every month at 5:00pm in the Commission Chambers Conference Room. Meeting dates and times subject to change for holidays. Please see our meetings page for upcoming Economic Development Council meetings.
