Cybersecurity Incident Involving CodeRED Emergency Alert Platform

The City of Pompano Beach is informing residents and visitors of a cybersecurity incident involving CodeRED, the third-party emergency alert platform operated by OnSolve. The City was notified that a dataset associated with CodeRED user accounts may have been impacted.

The potentially affected information includes user contact details, such as name, address, email address, phone numbers, and, for some users, passwords associated with their CodeRED profiles if they took the extra step of setting up a profile. Not all CodeRED users have or use passwords; however, any individual who used a password to create a CodeRED profile and also uses that same password for other personal or business accounts is strongly advised to change those passwords immediately.

At this time, there is no indication that the impacted data has been publicly disclosed online. The City is sharing this information proactively to ensure individuals can take appropriate steps to protect their personal information.

Due to this incident, the CodeRED enrollment link on the City’s website has been temporarily disabled. The City is actively transitioning to a new emergency alerting system, and registration details will be shared as soon as the new platform is in place.

This incident did not occur on the City’s network, and no other City data or systems have been affected.
