Community Meeting for New Downtown Pompano Beach to Feature Project Updates, Engagement Opportunities, and Community Resource Partners

E. Pat Larkins Community Center | 520 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Friday, June 26th

6:00 pm

The City of Pompano Beach and the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), in partnership with RocaPoint Partners (RP Pompano, LLC), invite residents, business owners, and stakeholders to a community meeting for the New Downtown on Friday, June 26th, at 6:00 PM at the E. Pat Larkins Community Center, located at 520 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Attendees will hear project updates on the New Downtown and learn about opportunities to participate. The meeting will also provide a forum for residents to connect with community resources and learn how to get involved in shaping the future of Downtown Pompano Beach.

Whether you own a business, are looking to start one, need information on job certification programs, financial literacy, or how to do business with the City, or want to learn how you can participate in the New Downtown, this event is designed for you. Featured partners providing resources to the community include CareerSource Broward, Consolidated Credit, Choices Network, Kappa Foundation, Lotus Mindset, SCORE, the City of Pompano Beach Purchasing Department, Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, and more.

A highlight of the evening will be a meet-and-greet with the architectural team for the new E. Pat Larkins Community Center, offering attendees an early opportunity to learn more about the design team.

That architectural team was selected by RP Pompano, LLC, in partnership with the City of Pompano Beach and the CRA, and is comprised of STUDIO-US and METICULOUS Design Architecture.

Selected for their shared philosophy of “designing for humanity,” the joint team will lead a collaborative design process rooted in listening and supported by a robust community engagement framework. STUDIO-US, led by Stacey Boynton, AIA, NOMA, is a local, Black- and woman-owned design firm based in Pompano Beach, bringing a deep understanding of the City’s fabric. Together with METICULOUS Design Architecture, a black-owned firm focused on civic and municipal spaces that elevate the human experience, the team will guide a series of interactive visioning sessions, workshops, and open forums in close collaboration with residents and stakeholders.
