City to Officially Observe Juneteenth Holiday For the First Time In 2022

Monday, June 20th

The City of Pompano Beach administrative facilities will be closed on Monday, June 20^th in observance of the Juneteenth Federal holiday.

June 19^th is celebrated as “Juneteenth,” but since June 19^th falls on a Sunday this year, it will be observed by the City on Monday, June 20^th.

On April 27, 2021, the City Commission approved Juneteenth as a paid holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.
