City to Officially Observe Juneteenth Holiday For the First Time In 2022

Monday, June 20th

The City of Pompano Beach administrative facilities will be closed on Monday, June 20th in observance of the Juneteenth Federal holiday.

June 19th is celebrated as “Juneteenth,” but since June 19th falls on a Sunday this year, it will be observed by the City on Monday, June 20th.

On April 27, 2021, the City Commission approved Juneteenth as a paid holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.
