City Offers Free Construction OSHA Standards Course

The City of Pompano Beach Job Placement Center has partnered with Broward College through the Broward UP program to offer residents a free Construction OSHA Standards Course and preparation for the OSHA 30 Certification.

This course focuses on OSHA Standards and will include basic construction standards in relation to safety and hazards. It is a 16-day, 48-hour course. The course is going to be held in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. from October 16th through December 13th at the E. Pat Larkins Community Center which is located at 520 Dr. MLK Jr Boulevard.

The Construction OSHA Standards Course is for residents at any level from day laborers to credentialed construction professionals as well as for businesses, trade and professional organizations. The purpose is to leverage resources and expertise to develop compliance assistance tools to help prevent injuries, illnesses and fatalities in the workplace.

The deadline to register on-line is October 9th or you can attend the in-person Community Information Session on October 12th at 4:00 p.m. at the E. Pat Larkins Community Center. Register online at www.pompanobeachfl.gov/residents/job-placement-center.
