Press Release
Beach Parking Lot to Close as W Development Moves Forward
Monday, November 9th
Changes are coming to Pompano Beach's beachfront! As preparations for the highly anticipated W Pompano Beach Hotel & Residences development begin, the permanent closure of the Beach Parking Lot will take effect on Monday, November 9, 2026. Located just north of Atlantic Boulevard at the corner of A1A and Pompano Beach Boulevard, the lot currently provides more than 200 public parking spaces, which will no longer be available after Veterans Day Weekend. As part of the site's redevelopment preparations, several existing trees from the parking lot will be relocated to the Pompano Beach Skatepark.
With the closure of the Beach Lot, the City encourages residents and visitors to explore alternative parking and transportation options, including the recently launched free Circuit Fishing Village Shuttle powered by Circuit. Designed to help alleviate beach parking demand, the shuttle provides free, on-demand rides directly to and from the Fisher Family Pier on Fridays through Sundays and holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Residents and visitors within the designated service area can also request a ride from a residence or business. For those traveling from outside the service area, two convenient Weekend Park & Ride locations are available at City Hall (100 W. Atlantic Boulevard) and Old Town (NE 2nd Street and NE 2nd Avenue).
Beachgoers can park for free at either location and request a direct shuttle ride to and from the beach. Wheelchair-accessible service is available, and vehicles can accommodate beach chairs, bags, coolers, and other beach-day essentials.
Additional public parking remains available near the beach, including the Oceanside Parking Lot, Pier Parking Garage, and designated street parking.

The upcoming W Pompano Beach Hotel & Residences will bring a new luxury beachfront destination to the City. Planned as a 24-story development, the property will feature 296 hotel suites and 77 private residences, along with restaurants, resort-style pools, a spa, and other upscale amenities. The project marks another exciting chapter in the continued transformation of Pompano Beach's oceanfront.
