Two Truths

Can two seemingly contradictory things be true at once? In Two Truths, artist Renée Rey explores the complex relationship between memory, identity, and belonging through expressive paintings that bring opposing ideas into conversation.

Blending architectural forms, organic shapes, rich textures, and intuitive gestures, Rey creates layered compositions that reflect how memories are formed, transformed, and carried within us. Her work explores the delicate balance between structure and freedom, presence and absence, and inheritance and choice, revealing how seemingly conflicting experiences can coexist.

Drawing from her multicultural heritage and background in interior architecture, Rey invites viewers to consider the unseen connections between personal history, place, and perception. Two Truths offers a thought-provoking exploration of the contradictions that shape our memories, our identities, and our understanding of the world around us.
