Acknowledged as “South Florida’s queen of soul,” Valerie Tyson is one of South Florida’s most sought-after vocalists. “She will take the audience and wrap them around her finger“ Her flame-thrower vocals threaten to burn the joint down as she raids the repertoire of such R&B greats as Aretha Franklin” and the one and only Gladys Knight” whose style Valerie admits was and is a significant influence in her life on her singing style to this day. Valerie performed and toured through various states and abroad, having the opportunity to open shows for Al Green, Jimmy “Bo” Horne Janet Jackson, New Edition, Spyro Gyro, and Earth, Wind, and Fire. Valerie had the chance to perform in “Jazz in the Gardens” in Miami as a featured local artist. She continues to give her best to audiences, whether large or small.

Soulful Sundays - November 2020
This month, is a special Soulful Sundays as we closeout with the celebration of the 100th birthday of Esther Rolle through poetry, dance, and a concert by the Old Skool Gang. The Old Skool Gang is the brainchild of Entertainment Executive, and former KC and the Sunshine Band Member, Paul Lewis. Paul’s musical career has spanned four decades and his smooth first tenor voice is just the right flavor to make you remember artists like Smokey Robinson, El Debarge, The Stylistics, Switch, Eddie Kendricks, O’Bryan, Sam Cooke & Enchantment. The Old Skool Gang stay on top of the Best Music of Yesteryear.

This month, Soulful Sundays features the incredible music of the Gypsy Lane Band! Two of the Gypsy Lane Band members were the backing musicians for such groups as the Village People, the Ritchie Family and Instant Funk and performed with Patti La Belle, Cindy Lauper and Lou Rawls.
