The Derek Mack Band is one of South Florida’s premier show bands. These high-energy versatile groups of musicians cross musical lines to bring a variety of styles and moods to please anyone’s musical taste. Performing music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s 2000’s and today. Derek the younger brother of {Grammy-nominated singer “George McCrae” known Worldwide for his hit song “Rock Your Baby” and a native of West Palm Beach, FL) and his band are known for delivering a powerful performance that will leave you chanting for more. They have received rave reviews from wedding planners, event planners, club owners, and booking agencies around the country and in Europe.
Derek a multi-talented musician/singer-songwriter has shared the stage with recording artists such as BB King, George McCrae, KC & Sunshine Band, Kool and the Gang, The Commodore, Taylor Dane, Johnny Gill, The Dazz Band, The Gap Band, Spyro Gyro, Earth Wind& Fire, Montell Jordan, and Betty Wright, to name a few. The Derek Mack Band is a favorite of many Fortune Five hundred charitable companies, and they are available for all types of musical venues such as backup for recording artists, studio sessions, wedding receptions, conventions, private parties, concerts, and nightclub performances. - Artist: Candace Woodson Queen of Sophisticated Soul
Candace Woodson is the answer to those who long for nostalgic and soulful R&B and jazz music, singing the greats such as Aretha Franklin, Phyllis Hyman, Valerie Simpson, Chaka Khan, Ella Fitzgerald, Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston to name a few. Candace Woodson is an Indie Soul Grammy winner (2019) and a UK Soul Chart Top 100 of 2021 recipient for the #1 song, “Midas Touch” and the winner of many awards. Candace continues to climb the Billboard Independent charts with her recent release "Trying To Be Perfect (New Mix)”. Her first version recording of “Trying to be Perfect” reached number one on the UK Soul chart. Candace continues to be a well-sorted indie artist, allowing her to work with top producers and other recording artists. Candace will be in the UK in May of 2024 to appear as a special guest for Alexander O'Neal (May 3,4, 5, and 7).

Acknowledged as “South Florida’s queen of soul,” Valerie Tyson is one of South Florida’s most sought-after vocalists. “She will take the audience and wrap them around her finger“ Her flame-thrower vocals threaten to burn the joint down as she raids the repertoire of such R&B greats as Aretha Franklin” and the one and only Gladys Knight” whose style Valerie admits was and is a significant influence in her life on her singing style to this day. Valerie performed and toured through various states and abroad, having the opportunity to open shows for Al Green, Jimmy “Bo” Horne Janet Jackson, New Edition, Spyro Gyro, and Earth, Wind, and Fire. Valerie had the chance to perform in “Jazz in the Gardens” in Miami as a featured local artist. She continues to give her best to audiences, whether large or small.

Soulful Sundays - November 2020
This month, is a special Soulful Sundays as we closeout with the celebration of the 100th birthday of Esther Rolle through poetry, dance, and a concert by the Old Skool Gang. The Old Skool Gang is the brainchild of Entertainment Executive, and former KC and the Sunshine Band Member, Paul Lewis. Paul’s musical career has spanned four decades and his smooth first tenor voice is just the right flavor to make you remember artists like Smokey Robinson, El Debarge, The Stylistics, Switch, Eddie Kendricks, O’Bryan, Sam Cooke & Enchantment. The Old Skool Gang stay on top of the Best Music of Yesteryear.

This month, Soulful Sundays features the incredible music of the Gypsy Lane Band! Two of the Gypsy Lane Band members were the backing musicians for such groups as the Village People, the Ritchie Family and Instant Funk and performed with Patti La Belle, Cindy Lauper and Lou Rawls.
