  • Artist: Mojo Ike & the Val Woods Blues Band

Mojo Ike and Val continue to WOW audiences around the world . This Grammy nominated duo have a high energy and electrifying show that always gets the crowd moving. Ike's guitar style is a combination of B. B., Hendrix, Wes Montgomery & Roy Clark mixed with The Ike Woods Spice. His singing is soulful with a touch of the Otis Redding Power. Val’s singing has the essence of Ella, Aretha, Etta James and a dash of Nancy Wilson complimented with her own distinct style. They have just won the Akademia Music Awards January 2016 Best Blues Album for their CD, “Movin’ Up”. Their original (from the CD) “Freedom Blues” is currently number one on the ReverbNation Blues Charts.

This month, is a special Soulful Sundays as we closeout with the celebration of the 100th birthday of Esther Rolle through poetry, dance, and a concert by the Old Skool Gang. The Old Skool Gang is the brainchild of Entertainment Executive, and former KC and the Sunshine Band Member, Paul Lewis. Paul’s musical career has spanned four decades and his smooth first tenor voice is just the right flavor to make you remember artists like Smokey Robinson, El Debarge, The Stylistics, Switch, Eddie Kendricks, O’Bryan, Sam Cooke & Enchantment. The Old Skool Gang stay on top of the Best Music of Yesteryear.

Soulful Sundays - October 2020

This month, Soulful Sundays features the incredible music of the Gypsy Lane Band! Two of the Gypsy Lane Band members were the backing musicians for such groups as the Village People, the Ritchie Family and Instant Funk and performed with Patti La Belle, Cindy Lauper and Lou Rawls. If you loveGospel, Jazz, Motown and Reggae...this is one event you won't want to miss!!!
