FUN FACTS:

Sinatra played Miami Beach for twenty years: 

"Sinatra spent twenty years playing Miami Beach. In February he's back, forty minutes up the coast." 

The Fontainebleau's La Ronde Supper Club was his Miami Beach room. He performed there on many occasions from the 1950s onward and made the hotel his base when he was in town.

On March 26, 1960 he sang a duet with Elvis Presley at the Fontainebleau — the "Frank Sinatra Timex Welcome Home Elvis" special, taped in Miami Beach and broadcast that May. One of the most famous television moments of the era, and it happened forty minutes from your stage.

He had a two-week residency at the Eden Roc in the 1960s, performing nightly at the Café Pompeii.

Three of his films were shot here — A Hole in the Head (1959), largely at the Cardozo; Tony Rome (1967), including at the Fontainebleau; and Lady in Cement(1968).

"New York, New York" turns 50 in 2027. Written by Kander and Ebb in 1977- Sinatra made it his in 1980 (his final Top 40 hit). 

Sinatra didn't like "My Way." His daughter Tina: "He didn't like it. That song stuck and he couldn't get it off his shoe." He sang it for nearly thirty years anyway.
