Celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month with us- a 40 year old tradition dating back to 1985!

As parks and recreation professionals, we strive every day to make a positive impact in the lives of our community members and look forward to celebrating with you! This year’s theme, "Build Together, Play Together," beautifully reflects the vibrant spirit of our community here in Pompano Beach.

Each year, the City officially proclaims Parks & Rec Month, and this year’s celebration kicks off with the unveiling of the proclamation by the City Commission on June 24th at 6 PM.

Did you know that Pompano Beach is home to more than 700 acres of parka across 53 diverse locations?

• From our stunning beachfront—featuring a newly renovated playground, outdoor fitness area, and splash pad—to green spaces that nurture connection and wellness, there’s truly something for everyone.
• Whether you're cultivating your green thumb at the Patricia Davis Community Garden, playing on one of our 26 pickleball courts (with six more on the way), or discovering the underwater wonders of Wahoo Bay’s SEAHIVE™ structures, adventure is always close by.
• Golfers can enjoy a round at the scenic Pompano Beach Golf Course, while dog lovers and their four-legged friends can romp and socialize at Canine Corner Dog Park, our dedicated off-leash dog play area.
• Planning a summer get-together? Explore our 28 picnic pavilions, indoor meeting spaces, or community event halls available for rent.
• And the excitement continues! Don’t miss our July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at the Beach from 5:00 to 9:30 PM—an unforgettable evening of live music, family fun, and dazzling fireworks.
• Then, cool off with our Dive-In Movie Series at the Houston/Sworn Pool, where you can catch a film while floating under the stars.
