Proposed City Charter changes: Proposed Charter Amendments Explained
"Nearer the Sun" is a collection of works exploring memory and the passage of time through images of defunct South Florida places. Paintings, sculptures, and collected ephemera depict these retail and entertainment spaces as existing in both past and present, revealing moments in their life cycles. The title of the exhibition is borrowed from vintage travel advertisements, reflecting the work's complex relationships with tourism, nostalgia, and the passage of time. In this exhibition, nearly forgotten places are celebrated, offering glimpses of their inherent beauty and history.
