A monthly workshop series that explores the history, terminology and practice of various color theories and techniques using watercolor and acrylics.
Learn the properties of color including hue, saturation, and value; composition of palettes, and the use of mediums to alter the chemistry and texture of paint.
While it is recommended to take various workshops, students have the option to take sessions independently for each workshop is designed to work autonomously.
Session 4 – May 6th: Value – Tertiary Colors. Watercolor and acrylics
Session 5 – June 3rd: Contrast – Palettes. Acrylics
Session 6 – July 1st: Volume – Mixing Colors. Watercolor and acrylics
Session 7 – August 5th: Balance – Composition. Acrylics
Session 8 – September 2nd: Mediums 1 – Acrylic as Watercolor
Session 9 – October 7th: Mediums 2 – Acrylic as Oil
Session 10 – November 4th: Temperas – What it is and how to make it. Pigments and egg yolk
Session 11 – December 2nd: Low Saturation – From Color to Grey. Watercolor
Session 12 – January 6th Super Saturated. Acrylics
