Welcome to Sea Turtle Season in South Florida! From March through October is when sea turtles come ashore to nest — and later, hatchlings make their way to the ocean.

Here’s how residents and visitors can help:

Use amber LED bulbs if you live near the beach
Turn off unnecessary outdoor lighting at night
Close curtains and blinds after dark
Stay clear of marked nests
Never use flash photography near hatchlings
Never touch a hatchling (it’s against the law)
