When an Excessive Heat Warning is issued and the Heat Index hits 110+ degrees, daily pool admission at both Houston Sworn Pool and the Pompano Beach Aquatic Center will be 50% off!

Last year, WLRN reported, that “in South Florida, where sticky humidity can amp up the feels like temperature, the National Weather Service had launched a pilot program to improve warnings. In 2023, it began alerting the public at lower temperatures based on the heat index. The changes were expanded to Broward County in 2025. Under the new parameters, heat advisories are issued when the heat index hits 105 degrees for at least two hours. Heat warnings go out when the heat index tops 110 degrees for two hours or more.
Standard daily prices for residents are $2 for children, $3 for adults, while non-residents are $4 and $6 respectively.
