Whether you’re a long-time Floridian who’s endured the wrath of several serious storms, or this is your first hurricane season, it is important to be prepared. That’s why the City of Pompano Beach Fire Department is proud to partner with the National Weather Service to host this year’s Hurricane Season ’25 Kickoff Event on June 5, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Commission Chambers.

During this event attendees will learn about the seasonal outlook, receive the latest tips, and get expert guidance on how to stay safe before, during, and after a storm. Speakers from the National Weather Service will be sharing important information and County representatives will provide details about shelters and the Special Needs Registry.

Hurricane season in Florida runs from June 1 through November 30, so now is the time to make sure you are stocked up on all the essentials, check your home for its storm-worthiness, create a family emergency plan, and more! Getting organized is critical, so experts will be on hand sharing all the best ways to keep you, your families and your homes safe before, during and after a storm.

The first 50 attendees will receive FREE giveaways, and everyone will have a chance to win exciting prizes!
