Dive into Discovery: Wahoo Bay Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Where education meets adventure, Wahoo Bay is a one-of-a-kind marine park located in the sheltered waters of Pompano Beach's Hillsboro Inlet. Recently, the City hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by City officials. This innovative project, a public-private partnership between the City of Pompano Beach, Broward County, the State, and Shipwreck Park, Inc., aims to ignite a passion for ocean conservation, particularly among younger generations.

Wahoo Bay is an immersive educational experience designed to foster environmental awareness and inspire future generations to become stewards of our precious ocean. The facility offers a unique opportunity for the public to explore a protected underwater world teeming with marine life. Through snorkeling adventures, visitors will come face-to-face with the wonders of the local ecosystem. Additionally, real-time data on water quality and weather conditions, to broadcast live from the Bay, allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the delicate balance of our marine environment.

Wahoo Bay also serves as a launchpad for the "Blue Economy," a future where ocean industries flourish alongside healthy marine ecosystems. By partnering with local schools and universities, Wahoo Bay empowers students to pursue careers in marine science and technology. Through internships and research opportunities, students gain valuable real-world experience, preparing them to become the next generation of ocean champions.
