Black History Month Celebrations

February is Black History Month—a time to honor the contributions and triumphs of African Americans and Black people globally. In Pompano Beach, we’re celebrating with a variety of events designed to entertain, educate, and inspire!

Immerse yourself in powerful visual arts exhibitions, including Four Corners of My Mind by conceptual artist Anthony Burks at BaCA and Crowns and Trophies by muralist Chris Clark at Ali Cultural Arts Center. This month’s Artist in Residence, Constance Ivana, explores themes of social justice and Black history in her thought-provoking exhibition, Reflections of Rock Hill and Sumter.

Music lovers are in for a treat with the Timeless Divas concert, where Ebony Carlson pays tribute to legends like Billie Holiday and Whitney Houston. Jazz great Nicole Yarling returns with Jazz Reflections, and this month’s Soulful Sundays features Dr. J.

Mark your calendars for the Black History Month Parade on Monday, February 17 at 9:00 a.m., starting at Blanche Ely High School and ending at Mitchell Moore Park for a special celebration.

The celebrations continue with the 29th Annual Tiger Trail Festival, a spectacular month-long array of festivities, including a 5K walk/run, vibrant street festival, and more!
