“Therapy For The Art: The Evolution” by Willandra Dawes-McGahee explores the range of emotions experienced throughout life. Utilizing vibrant colors to represent the creativity and dynamism of the human experience, this exhibition reminds viewers to embrace each phase of growth and transformation. In this body of work, the artist calls on the viewer to assert individuality, stand firm while embracing the inevitability of change, and to find opportunities to create a solace no matter the obstacles.

Stay true. Be creative. Learn. Love. In all thy getting, get understanding.

- Willandra Dawes-McGahee

Willandra Mcgahee is a 30-year-old artist born and raised in the sunny Hollywood, Florida. She has always been passionate about creative arts. She was mostly known for her expressive dance; however, art had always been a deep love of hers. While there was a time that dance took precedence over art, Willandra couldn’t stay away too long. Her passion for art was reignited and she began to develop in acrylic painting. Being a self-taught artist, most of her work had been for herself or those close to her.
