The festivities kick off at 9:00 a.m. with a spirited parade, starting at Blanche Ely High School (1201 NW 6th Avenue). Expect to see local marching bands, dynamic dance teams, community organizations, and eye-catching floats that showcase the resilience, strength, and excellence of Black history. The parade is a chance for everyone—families, community groups, and individuals alike—to come together and take part in this unforgettable procession.
Parade Route:
The parade will culminate at Mitchell Moore Park (901 NW 10th Street) around 11:00 a.m., where the celebration continues.
We invite community groups, schools, businesses, performers, and organizations as we honor the rich culture, resilience, and achievements of Black history. Showcase your creativity with floats, performances, or walking groups and celebrate unity, heritage, and progress.
